▒▒ INTRODUCTION ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
What is DBAG ? /* (DB)ridge (A)reas.bbs (G)enerator */
DBAG will create an AREAS.BBS type file for you from the infomation
contained within the D'Bridge Mailer support files.
The archive you downloaded/received should be named DBAG_100.??? where
??? will be one of the many archive type extensions, ( Lzh, Pak, Arc
Zip, Arj ).
The DBAG_100.??? archive may be converted to another archive format
provided that all the listed files below are included and no others
are added either.
DBAG.EXE The executable program.
DBAG.DOC This documentation you are reading now.
UPDATE.100 Update, Debug & History Information
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
▒▒ HOW TO INSTALL IT !! ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Unpack the files from the archive and copy them into any directory
that is defined in your system "Path" environment variable.
DBAG will use the environment variable "DB" to locate the
nessercary D'Bridge support files it requires for full execution.
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
▒▒ THE OUTPUT FILES ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
DBAG can be executed just be entering the command "DBAG". This will
create the output file "AREAS.BBS" in the current directory. The
format of the Areas.Bbs is that of the QUICKBBS format.
Upto 2 Parameters ( case insensitive ) can be used on the command line
for DBAG. These are as follows :-
A "?" at any point in any of the parameters will cause the help screen
to be displayed.
A "/h" will also enable the help screen.
A "/d" will create extended information in the output file. This is
defaulted to off. A typical output without the extended information
is as below :-
2 REGION25 2:253/158 440/11 441/80.1 86 87 88 90
4 CA_CLIPPER 2:253/158 440/11 441/89
5 HARDWARE 2:253/158 256/45 440/11 441/80.1 86 87
6 SYSLNGE 2:253/158 440/11 441/80.1 86 87 88 89 90
Where as the following is output when the "/d" option is enabled :-
2 REGION25 2:253/158 440/11 441/80.1 86 87 88 90
; SPARE
4 CA_CLIPPER 2:253/158 440/11 441/89
5 HARDWARE 2:253/158 256/45 440/11 441/80.1 86 87
6 SYSLNGE 2:253/158 440/11 441/80.1 86 87 88 89 90
And this can show you where the gaps are in your echomail areas.
The final parameter that can be used is a fully qualified filename,
ie. C:\DB\MailOut\441-80.ARS where the output file will be in the
"C:\Db\MailOut" directory and be called "441-80.ARS". With this
feature you can create a "Dos Event" within D'Bridge to automatically
create an Areas.Bbs type file at a given time and send it to any
node of your chosing, a typical example is that I wish to send my
echomail area forwading infomation to my Networks EchoMail Co-Ord
on a regular basis and using the 2 batch file commands below, this
is possible.....
DBAG C:\Db\Outbound\441-80.Ars
Dbutil Send Crash 2:441/86 C:\Db\Outbound\441-80.Ars
DBAG will suppress the ",C ,H ,I and ,N" characters bieng exported
to the output file. It will also suppress the associated node
number with the ",A" control character. If the forward to line in
the echomail manager was :-
2:253/158 440/80,A 440/11,H 441/89 90,C
then the output line in the areas.bbs file would be :-
2:253/158 440/11 441/89 90

───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
The program is DESQview aware and can be run inside a 128K Dos Window.
When DBAG initialises it checks for the presence of the DESQview
multi-tasking environment and if active re-directs the screen to the
DESQview window in which it is running.
